From 26/8, World Football Federation (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino was in Hanoi to attend the second leg of the final match between the Vietnam and Thailand national teams at My Dinh National Stadium. This marked a rare occasion for the head of global football to personally attend a regional match in Vietnam, highlighting FIFA's interest in Southeast Asian and Vietnamese football.

The media and fans were particularly drawn to the vehicle used to transport the special guest. Instead of imported models, Infantino traveled in a Lac Hong 900 LX – a luxury electric SUV from the Vietnamese brand VinFast.
Images of the black vehicle, featuring the Lac bird logo, trailing the escort convoy, circulated widely. This was seen as a notable moment as Vietnam's premium electric SUV continued to serve high-profile international figures. The selection of the Lac Hong 900 LX for the FIFA President's itinerary also continues a recent tradition of using this model for important ceremonial and diplomatic activities in Vietnam.

The Lac Hong 900 LX is a limited-production vehicle developed by VinFast, not for mass commercial sale. It targets a specific clientele, including heads of state and dignitaries. Previously, the company delivered a batch of two armored vehicles and 10 standard versions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ceremonial duties.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle has a length of 5,342 mm and a wheelbase of 3,349 mm – approximately 20 cm longer than the VF 9 model. This allows for a limousine-style rear cabin with a soundproof glass partition between the passenger and driver compartments. The standard version uses two electric motors on both axles, delivering a total output of 300 kW (402 hp) and 620 Nm of torque. Its 123 kWh battery provides a range of approximately 595 km per charge. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The armored version, specifically, has its power increased to 455 hp to compensate for its weight, which exceeds 5 tons. According to the announcement, this version meets VPAM VR7 ballistic standards, capable of withstanding 440 shots from multiple positions and 11 explosion tests on the undercarriage and roof. The Lac Hong 900 LX is equipped with run-flat tires that allow continued movement after damage – standards commonly found in vehicles protecting dignitaries.

Beyond technical specifications, the Lac Hong 900 LX impresses with a design language rich in Vietnamese cultural identity. The grille draws inspiration from Dong Son drums and bamboo rows, combined with the Lac bird emblem and handcrafted gold-plated details. The interior features Nappa leather, Golden Nanmu wood, business-class rear seats with electric adjustment, heating, and cooling, along with a premium entertainment and sound system.
Prior to chauffeuring the FIFA President, the Lac Hong 900 LX had been deployed for major national celebrations, transporting heads of state and international guests visiting Vietnam.
