Around 4h, a dashcam driver, traveling quickly, was surprised to witness a flatbed truck, carrying another truck, speeding from behind. The flatbed truck swerved into the opposing lane to overtake near a bend on Do Van Day street. Simultaneously, a white electric car approached from the opposite direction. The flatbed truck driver was unable to react, leading to a head-on collision. The impact sent the car onto the sidewalk, spinning it sideways with its front severely damaged. The flatbed truck also tilted. The extent of injuries from this powerful collision is unknown.
Nighttime, with its emptier roads, often makes drivers prone to distraction, drowsiness, and overconfidence regarding speed and judgment. Drivers should maintain appropriate speeds, even slower at night, and keep stable lane discipline. Overtaking should only occur when safety is assured. Flatbed trucks, due to their significantly longer braking distance compared to passenger cars, pose a particular danger when speeding and overtaking recklessly.
