Honda unveils 2027 Accord, top price nearly 40,000 USD

The new version of the D-segment sedan features exterior design refinements, a focus on technology, upgraded driver assistance systems, and a starting price of 37,000 USD.

Honda has introduced an updated version of its Accord sedan in its home market, Japan. Instead of a complete redesign, the company focused on subtle exterior refinements, new color options, and enhanced advanced driver assistance systems.

Amidst a global market shift towards sport utility vehicles (SUVs), traditional sedans like the Honda Accord are transitioning from volume sellers to niche products for specific customer segments. Honda affirms its commitment to developing the Accord line, as evidenced by this recently launched update.

In addition to design refinements, the 2027 Accord also features technology and safety upgrades.

Minor exterior changes

The Japanese automaker emphasizes that this is an update, not a mid-cycle refresh or facelift. The changes to the 2027 Accord in Japan are subtle, focusing primarily on the turn signals and decorative elements.

Specifically, all Accord versions sold in Japan now feature clear turn signals integrated into the headlight clusters, replacing the previous amber color. This creates a more seamless look for the front fascia. Furthermore, the headlight trim elements are now body-colored, departing from the black finish of the previous model.

Regarding color options, Honda offers customers in Japan four new exterior choices: blue, white, black, and gray.

Safety and performance technology upgrades

The most significant changes are concentrated in the top-tier Accord e:HEV Sensing 360+ version. This variant distinguishes itself from standard e:HEV models with a body-colored front grille and a matching shark fin antenna. However, the main technological highlight is its advanced driver assistance system.

As its name suggests, this version is equipped with the Honda Sensing 360+ driver assistance system. In Japan, this system includes driver monitoring and enables hands-off driving mode on mapped highways. Honda first introduced this technology earlier this year, enhancing the Accord's competitiveness against segment rivals.

Regarding the powertrain, all 2027 Accord versions in Japan continue to use the familiar 2.0 four-cylinder hybrid engine. This engine is paired with two electric motors and an ecvt transmission.

The 2027 Honda Accord is available in Japan with a price range of 37,000-39,600 USD.
