Amid persistently high fuel prices, Honda recorded its highest-ever hybrid vehicle sales in July. US consumers purchased 36,609 hybrid vehicles from the company last month. Hybrid models accounted for 54% of total CR-V sales, 41% of Accord Hybrid sales, and 32% of Civic Hybrid sales.

Specifically, CR-V Hybrid sales reached 20,710 units, an 18.4% increase compared to July 2025. Accord Hybrid sales rose by 28.7%, while Civic Hybrid unexpectedly saw a 6.8% decrease.

Among other hybrid models, the Prelude coupe sold 354 units. Honda stated this result met its sales target, bringing total year-to-date sales to 2,077 vehicles.

Passenger car sales also surged, mirroring the hybrid trend. Sedan and coupe sales increased by 35.7% to 43,604 units. Accord sales soared by 54.7%, surpassing the 20,000-unit mark in July for the first time since 2019, according to Honda. Civic sales grew by 20.7%, marking its best July since 2021.

The CR-V remained a strong performer, attracting 38,335 buyers, an 18.8% increase, making it the best-selling crossover in the US last month as Toyota faced supply issues with its RAV4. The HR-V achieved sales of 13,539 units, and the Pilot had 10,125 buyers. Passport sales increased by 18.5% to 5,641 units, with over 80% of customers opting for the TrailSport version, which starts at USD 48,650.

Conversely, the Prologue experienced a 75.4% decline, with dealerships selling only 1,554 all-electric crossovers last month. Ridgeline pickup sales also fell by 8.5%, but Honda recently confirmed plans to launch a new generation with a more rugged, truck-like design.

In the luxury segment, subsidiary brand Acura reported a strong sales month. MDX sales increased by 60.8% to 4,786 vehicles. The entry-level ADX model also maintained its appeal with a 28.3% increase. Even the Integra hatchback saw a 68.8% growth, reaching 2,370 units.

The only setback was the RDX, with sales dropping 4.2% to 1,891 units. However, this model is slated for discontinuation and will be absent for a few years. Upon its return, the RDX promises to be "the first Acura model to feature a two-motor hybrid powertrain."
