The incident occurred in Ratlam on 26/6. Several vehicles in Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's convoy stalled immediately after refueling at a petrol station, while others broke down near the highway. A video circulating on social media shows people pushing one of the vehicles away from the station.
A police officer in Chouhan's security detail reported finding 10 liters of water mixed with approximately 20 liters of diesel in each affected vehicle. A truck driver who refueled at the same station experienced similar problems.
Amarjeet Dabar, the petrol station manager, denied intentionally mixing water with the fuel. "It is possible that rainwater entered the underground tank due to heavy rain. This isn't adulteration, but an unfortunate incident," Dabar said.
Authorities have sealed approximately 5,995 liters of petrol and 10,675 liters of diesel from the station for investigation.
