The intersection, located in the Tancredo Neves area of Manaus city, Amazonas state, has become a site of frequent concern. Video footage reveals at least 12 collisions occurred between 27/1 and early March of this year.
Many of these incidents involved vehicles, including both motorcycles and cars, traveling at low speeds. In one instance, a motorcycle carrying two passengers nearly came to a complete stop before falling over. Another scenario captured two motorcycles, each with two riders, approaching from perpendicular directions; despite both slowing down, they still collided.
The most serious collision involved a car that turned right, crashed into a roadside wall, and overturned. Fortunately, no significant injuries were reported, according to D24am.
The intersection has prompted various reactions from locals, with some jokingly calling it unsuitable for amateur drivers or likening it to a magnet for vehicles. More seriously, others point to the intersection's challenging terrain as a potential cause: a steep road, blind turns, and possibly driver distraction. The video footage shows several cases of cars rolling downhill and colliding with other vehicles.
