On a narrow, slippery road, an electric car (operating as a taxi) overtook a dashcam-equipped vehicle from the left. As it entered a curve, the car suddenly skidded, spinning sideways across the road. Fortunately, no other vehicles were present. Despite the incident, the driver continued at high speed.
The video illustrates a classic instance of losing control when cornering at speed while braking. The principle of safe cornering dictates that drivers must reduce speed, braking lightly to a suitable pace before steering into the curve. Once steering begins, avoid braking; allow the car to follow its natural trajectory. Braking, whether light or sudden, during a turn on a wet road can cause the car to lose balance, often leading to a spin or oversteer.
Additionally, the video highlights another driver error: overtaking on a curve. When a driver accelerates to overtake without knowing the curve's severity, the risk of losing speed control is high.
