The Ioniq V is the first mass-produced model designed specifically for the Chinese market, marking the debut of Hyundai's new Origin design philosophy. This model is part of a broader strategy. The company announced plans to launch 20 new models in China over the next 5 years, including battery electric vehicles and range-extended electric vehicles, targeting annual sales of 500,000 units.
Among these models is an SUV slated for launch next year, believed to be the production version of the Earth SUV concept, currently showcased alongside the Venus concept at the Beijing show.
Battery and powertrain specifications have not yet been disclosed, but 800 V charging capability has been confirmed. Hyundai states that the long-range version offers over 600 km of range according to China's CLTC test cycle.
It is currently unclear if the Ioniq V will be sold in markets outside China.
