Mazda's new-generation SUV design: style and distinction

Mazda connects with customers through a distinctive design language for its SUV lineup, prioritizing the "pursuit of pure beauty" before developing details.

With its new-generation SUV lineup, Mazda aims to win over customers with quality and a design philosophy reflecting Japanese artistry. The company's approach begins with product philosophy and design language.

According to Mazda, "With this new-generation design, a vehicle is not merely a mode of transport, but a living entity, imbued with the soul and energy of motion, a creation born from the passion of master artisans," a Mazda representative shared.

Under the theme "Car as Art," Mazda continues to refine and evolve this design language, aiming to elevate the luxury and sophistication of each SUV model. In these new generations, Mazda maintains its unique design approach, beginning with expressive creations to "discover pure beauty" before developing the details.

For the exterior, the Japanese automaker employs a minimalist approach, emphasizing depth through sculpted forms that shift in light and shadow depending on the viewing angle. The craftsmanship of the Takumi masters is evident from the design phase, as they collaborate closely with designers to fully grasp the concept, then bring it to life with their skills and aesthetic sensibilities.

"This is the result of the Takumi artisans' long-standing pursuit of perfection. The balanced proportions, clean lines, and lustrous finish on the body create Mazda's signature allure, evoking pride of ownership," the representative added.

For the interior, Mazda focuses on creating harmony between driver and vehicle, following the Jinba Ittai ("horse and rider as one") philosophy. The company maximizes modern minimalism and open space, characteristic elements of Japanese architecture, to create a sense of privacy, tranquility, and harmonious connection with the vehicle. Mazda calls this human-centric design approach.

The seats utilize SkyActiv Vehicle Architecture, promoting natural spine and pelvic alignment for comfort on long drives. The body is reinforced with connecting frames, bracing, and suspension connection points. The G-Vectoring Control Plus system enhances vehicle stability, especially when cornering.

These values are embodied in Mazda's new-generation SUV lineup, from the New CX-3 to the CX-30, CX-8, and especially the CX-5, the top-selling model in its segment in Vietnam.

The Mazda CX-5 offers a premium experience, optimizing the driving experience with a minimalist, modern layout. The interior features body-hugging Nappa leather seats, combined with noise insulation and intelligent driving assistance technology, promising a distinct experience compared to competitors in the same segment.

Since its launch in Vietnam, the CX-5 has consistently achieved high sales in its segment. With increased features and a 40 million dong discount, the starting price is now 709 million dong, the best in the C-SUV segment.

With the Mazda CX-30, the company aims to set a new standard for urban and young family SUVs. The Artful Design language is developed with a minimalist ("Less is More") approach, reflecting Japanese aesthetics. Designers focused on three elements: Yohaku (the beauty of empty space), Sori (the poise and balance of curves), and Utsuroi (the interplay of light and shadow). The interior boasts higher-quality materials and the i-Activsense safety suite.

The other SUV models follow a similar philosophy, differing in size and intended use. The CX-8, a 7-seater SUV, offers spaciousness and comfort for families. Highlights include premium leather seats, a sunroof, and three-zone independent climate control. This model also features the i-Activsense safety system.

"Mazda hopes everyone in the vehicle will have enjoyable journeys. We believe each Mazda model can stir the driver's emotions, awaken the senses, enhance reflexes, and create excitement behind the wheel," the Mazda representative concluded.
