A traffic incident occurred when a taxi slowly crossed a clear intersection. As the car approached the center of the intersection, a motorcycle quickly approached from the left. Two people on the motorcycle were carrying several long materials.
Unable to brake in time, the motorcycle crashed into the side of the oto. Due to inertia, the long materials surged forward, piercing the driver's side window. Following the collision, the oto moved forward; the driver's condition remains unclear. The motorcyclists fell onto the road after the impact but were able to stand up immediately.
Drivers of motorcycles must not carry oversized or bulky items that obstruct traffic and pose a risk of accidents to other road users. This practice becomes particularly hazardous when combined with high speed and failure to reduce speed at intersections.
According to the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, goods carried on a motorcycle must not exceed 0,3 m beyond the luggage rack on each side, 0,5 m beyond the rear of the luggage rack, and must not exceed 2 m from the road surface. Under Decree 168/2024, if carrying bulky goods causes a traffic accident, the penalty ranges from 10-14 million VND and may lead to the revocation of the driver's license.
