On the morning of 24/6, residents reported a multi-vehicle collision on the G15 expressway in Cao An district, Yishun city. Among the vehicles involved was a van transporting paint. The paint containers spilled, covering the entire cabin in white. Both occupants of the van were also completely covered in white paint.
According to witnesses, the accident occurred approximately 3 km from the expressway exit. A total of six vehicles were at the scene. The last vehicle, a van, rear-ended a sedan, causing the paint inside the van to spill out. The vehicles involved sustained varying degrees of damage.
The incident drew attention not for injuries or vehicle damage, but for its unusual aftermath. Many shared the opinion that cleaning the van's interior might cost significantly more than repairing the vehicle itself. Furthermore, if the spilled material had been hazardous instead of paint, the consequences would have been far more severe.
Even if cargo consists of ordinary solid goods rather than toxic chemicals, a high-speed collision can be deadly. When a vehicle stops suddenly during an impact, inertia can propel unsecured cargo forward. Therefore, if not properly secured, items in the back seat can strike the front seats, and with heavy loads, the potential for serious harm is considerable.
