A young man speeding on a motorcycle ran a red light on Tam Trinh Street yesterday, colliding with the side of a car. After the impact, he quickly turned his motorcycle around and attempted to flee. The car driver intercepted him and removed the motorcycle's key, but the motorcyclist still tried to escape.
Running a red light is illegal and creates a serious safety hazard for oneself and other drivers. In the event of a collision, drivers are required to stop, assess the damage, and cooperate with any necessary compensation procedures. Fleeing the scene is prohibited.
Decree 168/2024 stipulates that motorcyclists who run red lights and cause accidents face fines of 10-14 million VND and a deduction of 10 points from their driver's license.
