A driver had a near miss on the La Son-Tuy Loan expressway near Hoa Vang. Dashcam footage shows a pickup truck traveling at high speed. As the truck swerved left, a large barrel fell out of its bed. The trailing car, traveling at over 70 km/h, quickly swerved into the emergency lane to avoid a collision. The pickup truck was carrying several large, unsecured items in its bed, creating a hazardous situation for other drivers.
Transporting unsecured loads at high speeds on expressways poses a severe risk of accidents. Materials and equipment should be securely fastened to prevent them from falling onto the road and endangering others. Several accidents have been caused by falling sheets of metal and steel coils. Decree 168/2024 stipulates a fine of 2-4 million VND for transporting materials without proper covering or allowing them to spill onto the road.
