A couple was collecting their brand new Mahindra Thar Roxx at a dealership in Nirman Vihar, Delhi, on 8/9. The SUV was a birthday gift for the 29-year-old wife, a makeup artist.
As part of a traditional ritual for good luck, the customer placed a lime in front of a wheel and drove forward to crush it. However, the driver accidentally accelerated, crashing through a glass wall and sending the SUV plummeting to the ground below, where it landed on its roof. The reports didn't specify whether the husband or wife was driving. A dealership employee was also in the vehicle at the time.
Fortunately, no one below was injured. The occupants of the SUV sustained only minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital the same day, according to NDTV. However, someone's motorcycle was crushed beneath the falling vehicle.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx has a retail price of around 30,700 USD. The owner said she would file an insurance claim and hoped there wouldn't be any issues, as they had all the necessary documentation.
