The incident occurred when a truck crossed completely into the oncoming lane to overtake another vehicle. The truck driver, surprised by the approaching dashcam-equipped vehicle, lost control, causing the truck to spin sideways. The rear of the truck collided with the dashcam vehicle before veering off the road. The extent of injuries and property damage is unknown.

This incident highlights the importance of safe overtaking practices. Drivers should never cross into oncoming lanes to overtake. Even on broken lines, overtaking is only permissible when it's safe to do so. Overtaking is prohibited when there is oncoming traffic, as was the case in this incident.

According to Decree 168/2024 on penalties for road traffic violations, improper overtaking that causes an accident results in a fine of 20-22 million VND and a deduction of 10 points from the driver's license.
