Small MPV models race to offer tens of millions of VND in discounts

By late may, all small 7-seater car models were discounted through registration fee incentives, cashbacks, or accessories.

The intense promotional competition has pushed the prices of small MPV models into the B-segment sedan category. Over the past two years, it has been rare for any MPV model to sell at its suggested retail price, as competitors offer promotions almost every month.

Below is a summary of the discount levels for MPV models in the latter half of may: (unit: million VND)

The Mitsubishi Xpander, the segment's best-selling MPV for seven consecutive years, led the promotions in may. At dealerships, the Xpander currently offers discounts of 67-85 million VND, depending on the version. Toyota Avanza and Veloz were also competitive, with incentives ranging from 65-75 million VND.

Models with slower sales in the segment, such as the Suzuki XL7 and Honda BR-V, offered more modest discounts of around 30-35 million VND. Meanwhile, Thaco uniformly reduced the price of the Kia Carens by 20 million VND.

According to the table, the Toyota Avanza had the lowest post-discount price in the segment, ranging from 493-528 million VND. This model is currently the slowest-selling among small 7-seater vehicles.

For the Hyundai Stargazer, dealership discounts varied based on individual policies but generally ranged from 55-70 million VND for models with VIN 2025. The VIN 2026 versions, which are mid-cycle upgrades, saw discounts of around 20-30 million VND.

After the first four months of 2025, the small MPV segment sold 14,330 units, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period in 2025. The Xpander was the best-seller with over 5,500 units, closely followed by the Veloz with over 3,600 units.
