This move follows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attendance at the "made in India" electric SUV's launch event. Modi stated that the vehicle would be exported to over 100 countries from this plant, which also supplies the Indian domestic market.
The Hansalpur plant currently has an annual production capacity of 750,000 vehicles. 17 other Maruti Suzuki models are already exported to over 100 countries, including Japan.
The first shipments of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara were sent from the Pipapav port in Gujarat to the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, and Belgium.

According to Maruti Chairman R. C. Bhargava, 50,000 to 100,000 e Vitaras will be exported annually. With a projected capacity of 1 million vehicles, the Gujarat plant will become one of the largest automobile production centers in the world, according to Toshihiro Suzuki, CEO of Suzuki Motor Corporation. The plant can currently produce up to 750,000 vehicles per year across three production lines.
The international version of the e Vitara offers two battery options—49 kWh and 61 kWh—as well as front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive. The larger battery provides a range of over 500 km. The vehicle features a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 10.1-inch driver information display, 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, seven airbags, and level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Maruti will install fast charging stations at dealerships in 100 major cities, launch a charging app, and open over 1,500 electric vehicle service centers in over 1,000 cities in India. The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be priced from around 2,000,000 rupees (22,700 USD) and could go up to 3,000,000 rupees (34,000 USD).
The Suzuki e Vitara also debuted at the GIIAS 2025 exhibition in Indonesia at the end of last July. The vehicle is expected to go on sale in the Southeast Asian nation in 2026.
