The Tesla Model Y L starts at 47,000 USD, with deliveries beginning in September.
Developed from the standard version, the Model Y L long-wheelbase version features a more dynamic exterior design, from the roofline to the rear spoiler. These refinements improve aerodynamics, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.216.
The Model Y L measures 4,976 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,668 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,040 mm. This makes it 179 mm longer, 44 mm taller, and with a 144 mm longer wheelbase compared to the standard version.
The upgraded interior boasts a larger infotainment screen, increasing from 15.4 inches to 16 inches. Notably, the second row features independent, business-class-style seats with heating and cooling, armrests, and power-folding functionality. The third-row seats are also heated and can be folded flat with a single button. Cargo space reaches 2,539 liters with the third row folded down, 401 liters more than the standard model.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, new acoustic glass, an 18-speaker sound system, and an 8-inch touchscreen for the second row. A wireless charging pad supports fast charging.
The Model Y L is equipped with dual electric motors, one on each axle, with the front motor producing 190 horsepower and the rear motor generating 266 horsepower. In tests, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The long-wheelbase version is fitted with an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a range of 751 km on a single charge.
Tesla plans to begin deliveries of the Model Y L in September, with a starting price of 47,000 USD. In China, the Model Y L will compete with rivals such as the Aito M8, Onvo L90, and Li Auto i8.
