After six months, statistical agencies have compiled global car sales data. According to the latest figures from Jato Dynamics analyst Felipe Munoz, Toyota leads with five models in the top 10: the RAV4, Corolla Cross, Corolla, Hilux, and Camry. The brand's diverse portfolio and reputation for reliability continue to drive its dominance in numerous markets.

The Toyota RAV4 secured the top spot with 1,187,000 units sold, a slight edge over the Tesla Model Y's 1,185,000. The RAV4's sales grew by 11% compared to 2023, while the Model Y saw a 3% decline.
In addition to Toyota's dominance, Honda's CR-V also made the list. Notably, no South Korean vehicles are present. The sole Chinese model, the BYD Qin, secured its position due to strong domestic sales. The remaining spots are held by two Tesla models (Y and 3) and the American Ford F-150.
The Toyota Corolla Cross took third place with 859,000 units, marking an 18% increase from 2023. Following closely behind is the Honda CR-V in fourth place with 854,000 sales. The Toyota Corolla landed in fifth place with 697,000 deliveries, and the Hilux pickup maintained its sixth position with 617,000 sales, despite a 15% decrease.

The Ford F-150 climbed to seventh place with 595,000 units, while the Toyota Camry dropped to eighth with 593,000. Both experienced declines in sales compared to 2023, at 2% and 8% respectively.
The final two positions remained unchanged from 2023. The Tesla Model 3 saw 560,000 deliveries (a 10% increase), and the BYD Qin experienced a 6% rise, reaching 502,000 sales.
This ranking provides a detailed summary of global car sales by model in 2024. Munoz's methodology draws from various sources, including national statistical organizations, dealer associations, customs data, specialized websites, blogs, and analysts. According to Munoz, the ranking encompasses 153 markets, representing about 99% of global car sales.
