A Louisiana Department of Transportation worker was repairing a traffic light from an aerial lift in Livingston Parish on 25/6, according to Reuters. A video of the incident shows a tractor-trailer making a left turn when its container strikes the lift's arm.
The impact flipped the lift's basket, leaving the worker hanging upside down, secured by his safety harness. The Denham Springs Police Department reported that the worker sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Some online commenters placed blame on the truck driver. "Someone just lost their commercial driver's license," one commenter wrote. Another advised the worker, "Take the next 4 to 6 weeks off and get a good lawyer to sue the trucking company."
Others argued that the traffic light maintenance crew was responsible for not properly closing the lane and warning drivers, suggesting the truck driver should not be held liable.
