Vinfast partners with Vietmap to integrate smart maps

The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer signed a partnership with Vietmap on September 12th to develop and integrate digital maps and smart transportation services into Vinfast EVs.

Vietmap will offer preferential Vietmap Live map packages for Vinfast, and through the automaker, users will have optional software packages available for purchase. Vinfast will support Vietmap in introducing its products and services to Vinfast's user community.

This strategic partnership aims to facilitate joint research and development of detailed digital map systems optimized for Vietnam's transportation infrastructure, especially national highways and urban areas developed by Vinhomes. Vinfast and Vietmap will co-develop advanced map features such as navigation support, driver-assistance ADAS, real-time positioning, and location-based services. The goal is to optimize the integration of Vietmap into Vinfast's vehicle operating system and related software platforms.

Duong Thi Thu Trang, Vinfast's global deputy general director of business, stated that Vinfast supports domestic partners in development to provide users with products and services optimized for Vietnamese consumers. "The Vietmap partnership will make Vinfast EVs more user-friendly, useful, and feature-rich, aligning with user habits and needs," Trang said.

Huynh Buu Quoc, Vietmap's deputy general director, believes their strength in digital mapping technology and detailed traffic data will combine with Vinfast to create a breakthrough solution "made by Vietnamese people for Vietnamese people." He emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates the spirit of partnership and close connection between Vietnamese businesses in building a strong technology ecosystem.
