Vinfast unveils Lac Hong 900 LX, an SUV designed for dignitaries

The new Lac Hong brand debuts with the 900 LX SUV, designed specifically for dignitaries, available in standard and armored versions.

Vietnamese automaker Vinfast introduced the Lac Hong 900 LX at the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" Exhibition at the National Exhibition Construction Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi) on 28/8.

The Lac Hong 900 LX is a special limited edition designed for transporting international dignitaries during the 80th National Day celebrations (2/9/1945-2/9/2025) for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Lac Hong 900 LX is based on the VF 9 electric SUV, with a wheelbase extended by 199 mm to 3,349 mm. This results in larger overall dimensions compared to the standard VF 9.

Vinfast named the Lac Hong brand after the legend of "Children of Dragon, Grandchildren of Fairy," a story about the Vietnamese people's ancestry. In addition to the vehicles for dignitaries, the brand will likely be commercialized, with models smaller than the 900 LX.

The Lac Hong 900 LX's interior features premium materials like leather, Golden Nanmu wood, Nappa leather, and real gold. The cabin design is the same as the VF 9.

The rear seats are designed in a business-class style with heating and cooling functions. They offer 10-way power adjustment with two memory positions, reclining backrests, and calf rests. Pillows and headrests feature embroidered gold V logos. The vehicle has leather upholstery with contrasting yellow stitching.

For a smooth ride, the vehicle features an independent suspension system with double wishbones at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, along with air suspension. The seat adjustment buttons are handcrafted from real gold plating.

The standard Lac Hong 900 LX shares the same technical specifications as the VF 9 Plus: two 150 kW motors on each axle, delivering a total output of 300 kW (402 hp) and 620 Nm of torque. It has a 123 kWh battery, weighs 3,035 kg, and offers a range of 595 km.

The armored version has higher specifications due to its increased weight of 5,049 kg. It retains the two motors but increases the total output to 455 hp. The driving range is reduced to 450 km per charge. It uses 19-inch wheels instead of the 21-inch wheels on the standard version. Photo: Luong Dung

The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" Exhibition runs from 28/8 to 5/9/2025 at the National Exhibition Construction Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. On 28/8, it opened at 1 p.m.

The standard Lac Hong 900 LX is displayed at Vingroup's indoor exhibition area, Hall H3, Kim Quy Exhibition Hall. The tested armored version is located in the outdoor exhibition area at the West Yard.
