Volvo calls the new EX60 a breakthrough, marking it as the brand's most important electric vehicle to date. Entering the segment with impressive specifications, the SUV is set to make a significant impact.
The EX60 boasts an EPA-estimated range of 644 km for its top-tier P12 AWD Electric model, surpassing even the Tesla Model Y Long Range. This model also features 400 kW fast-charging capability, allowing it to add up to 278 km of range in just 10 minutes. Furthermore, the EX60 offers direct access to Tesla's Supercharger network.

The EPA-estimated range is 644 km.
The EX60 comes with three powertrains and 7 different versions. The P6 RWD model offers a range of up to 499 km, while the P10 AWD achieves 515 km. The P12 AWD has the highest range at 644 km.
Underpinning the EX60 is Volvo's new SPA3 architecture, paired with the HuginCore control system. This advanced configuration integrates several key technologies: a unibody battery structure, large-scale die-casting technology, and new-generation electric motors manufactured by Volvo. The Swedish brand warranties its battery technology for 10 years, a key assurance given this is a new platform.

Volvo states that these advancements result in lighter weight, greater efficiency, better manufacturing scalability, and, importantly, lower costs for consumers. The EX60 has a carbon footprint comparable to the smaller EX30 model. While specific pricing for each version has not been disclosed, a fully equipped EX60 is expected to cost around 60,000 USD.
Regarding design, the EX60 evolves Volvo's existing language rather than completely overhauling it. The vehicle achieves a drag coefficient of 0,26 Cd, thanks to its low nose design, sloped roofline, and tapered edges. A long wheelbase and flat floor enhance rear legroom and cargo space.

Technology highlights include a Bowers & Wilkins 28-speaker sound system, with headrest-integrated speakers for all four seats, and Apple Music featuring Dolby Atmos technology. Additionally, an AI assistant, which Volvo says will converse like a normal person, is included. This system runs on Google's Gemini AI platform on the Android Automotive OS. New multi-adaptive seatbelts are also a notable feature. Volvo utilizes a safety cage reinforced with boron steel, employing a range of sensors and continuous environmental monitoring to exceed current regulatory standards.

Volvo also confirmed that the EX60 Cross Country version will be sold in the United States, following its European debut. This version features an increased ground clearance of 20 mm, with an additional 20 mm of adjustability via its adaptive suspension system. The vehicle comes equipped with skid plates, wider wheel arches, unique rims, and a Frost green paint color. It also features standard all-wheel drive and is only offered with P10 and P12 powertrains.
European customers can already pre-order the EX60. Orders in the United States will begin in late spring, with production starting concurrently at Volvo's factory in Sweden. The P6 and P10 versions will launch first this summer, followed by the extended-range P12 version shortly after.
