Yamaha recalls over 306,600 motorcycles due to brake caliper defect

Two hybrid scooter models, the RayZR 125 Fi and Fascino 125 Fi, are subject to the recall.

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha announced a recall of 306,635 scooters in the Indian market. Specifically, the two models, RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, were produced between 2/5/2024 and 3/9/2025.

The recall stems from a potential issue with the front brake caliper, which in some vehicles may not function as intended under specific operating conditions. Yamaha did not specify the defect's origin.

Affected vehicles will receive free replacement parts (brake calipers). Customers can check their vehicle's eligibility by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN) into the recall section on Yamaha India's website.

The RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid are consistently among India's best-selling models.

Both models are equipped with a 125 cc Blue Core engine featuring a hybrid electric assist system. This single-cylinder, air-cooled engine produces 8 horsepower and 10,3 Nm of torque.

The Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid are both sold in two versions, priced between 810-880 USD.
