The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industries Association, organized the connection program in Binh Duong ward.
Vo Son Dien, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industries Association, stated the event provides an opportunity for domestic supporting industry businesses to connect directly with upstream manufacturers, foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, large manufacturing corporations, and industrial park ecosystems.
"This is a crucial platform helping Vietnamese businesses expand cooperation and participate deeper into global supply chains," Dien said.

Ha Van Ut, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, explained that the supporting industry is considered the backbone of modern industry. It supplies core components, parts, materials, and technical processes for key manufacturing sectors. The capacity of the supporting industry directly reflects an economy's self-reliance.
According to Ut, despite significant progress, Vietnam's supporting industry still faces challenges: international market instability, rising technical demands from multinational corporations, and a lack of sustainable industry links.
However, these challenges also motivate Vietnamese businesses to restructure, accelerate technology application, drive innovation, and enhance competitiveness. This increases their ability to participate deeper into global supply chains.
Ut affirmed that for the supporting industry to truly grow, it cannot rely on individual efforts alone. It requires collaboration among the State, businesses, institutes, schools, and associations, with businesses playing a central role.
The government recently issued Decree 205/2025/ND-CP, effective from 1/9, to expand incentive policies for the supporting industry. This new document amends and supplements Decree 111/2015, marking an important adjustment after nearly a decade. It helps unlock resources for domestic businesses to participate deeper into global supply chains.
