ABBank completes charter capital increase to nearly 14 trillion VND

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) has completed increasing its charter capital from 10,350 billion VND to 13,972 billion VND, aiming to strengthen its financial foundation for a new growth phase.

To achieve this plan, ABBank issued over 310 million shares to existing shareholders based on their subscription rights, raising approximately 3,104 billion VND. Concurrently, the bank implemented an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), issuing nearly 52 million shares, valued at around 517 billion VND.

According to an ABBank representative, completing these two issuance components strengthens the bank's financial capacity. It also demonstrates the commitment of shareholders and the dedication of its staff to the bank's development strategy. The additional capital will primarily be used to expand business operations, particularly credit activities, and to invest in digital transformation and technology system upgrades.

This capital increase occurs amidst improved business results for ABBank. In 2025, the bank reported a pre-tax profit of 3,522 billion VND, approximately 4,7 times higher than in 2024, and achieving nearly 200% of its annual target. Operational efficiency indicators also significantly improved, reflecting positive changes from restructuring and enhanced operational efficiency in recent years.

In parallel with strengthening its financial foundation, ABBank is undergoing a transformation to reposition itself within a financial and banking sector entering a period of intense competition and significant change.

Early 2026, the bank unveiled a new brand identity with the positioning "Bank creating happiness", aiming for a modern, dynamic, and customer-centric image. Alongside this, ABBank also made several adjustments to its senior personnel and management structure to enhance professionalism, operational efficiency, and market adaptability. Vu Van Tien returned to assume the role of Chairman of ABBank's Board of Directors. He is considered an inspiration and a visionary for the restructuring process, guiding the bank towards more breakthrough and sustainable development goals in the future.

Based on its strategic direction, ABBank aims to continue improving operational quality, optimizing capital utilization efficiency, and accelerating digital transformation to enhance customer experience in the coming period. With a stronger financial foundation, ABBank will continue to innovate, delivering better financial products and services to customers while creating sustainable value for shareholders and the community.
