Aeon Group aims to triple its scale in Vietnam

Aeon Group implements a two-pronged strategy to expand its retail, finance, and entertainment ecosystem and appoints a new chief representative in Vietnam.

Aeon Group representatives expressed confidence in the exceptional growth potential of the Vietnamese market, identifying it as a key strategic region for development.

To realize this mission, Aeon is implementing a two-pronged development strategy. The company is restructuring its supply chain and developing private label brands like Topvalu and Home Coordy to ensure quality at reasonable prices. In addition, the company is diversifying its business models and expanding its network from urban centers to local areas. The group considers this the foundation for its long-term vision.

Not limited to retail, Aeon is gradually building an ecosystem by leveraging its comprehensive strengths in areas such as shopping mall development, financial services, and entertainment, contributing to improving the quality of life for Vietnamese people. Furthermore, the philosophy of community engagement remains a core value in the group's development journey.

With a focus on sustainable development, the company concentrates on three pillars: economic, social, and environmental. Aeon hopes to collaborate with the government to achieve sustainable development goals and contribute meaningfully to local prosperity.

To implement these goals, Aeon Group recently announced Tezuka Daisuke as a member of the group's Executive Board, Chief Representative of the group in Vietnam, and the new General Director of Aeon Vietnam. This change is part of the company's personnel restructuring for the 2025 fiscal year.

Tezuka Daisuke has over 23 years of experience in finance, retail, and supply chain management. He joined Aeon Group in 2002 and has held various important positions, including Director of Planning, Director of Strategy at Aeon Group, Deputy General Director of United Super Markets Holdings, and Director of Logistics at Aeon Group.

Tezuka Daisuke is highly regarded for leading startup projects, implementing restructuring, and developing corporate strategies. He is also known as one of the pioneers in building two iconic centers representing the next-generation supply chain model. These include a state-of-the-art automated logistics center and a food processing center meeting professional chef standards.

In his new role, Tezuka Daisuke stated that Aeon will continue to contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of the local community by integrating its three core business pillars in Vietnam: shopping mall development, multi-industry retail, and financial services.

A subsidiary of Aeon Group Japan, Aeon Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established in 2011. The company currently invests in five retail business areas in the Vietnamese market: shopping malls, general merchandise stores and supermarkets, specialty stores, mini-supermarkets, and e-commerce. Since the opening of its first shopping mall, Aeon Tan Phu Celadon, in 2014, Aeon Vietnam has expanded its operations to over 7,000 employees nationwide as of June 2021.
