The commendation was presented at a conference summarizing the results of the "National effort to eradicate temporary and dilapidated housing" program after over a year of implementation. The event also recognized groups and individuals who contributed to this social welfare project.
Launched by the prime minister in Hoa Binh in 4/2024, the program aimed to be completed within 450 days. In just over a year, the program has helped eliminate over 334,000 substandard houses nationwide, finishing 5 years ahead of schedule. This national project reflects the spirit of national unity and the determination to "leave no one behind."
The banking sector has been recognized as a key driving force, mobilizing over 1,800 billion VND for the program. Agribank received a commendation for its outstanding contributions, demonstrating its leading role with activities spanning from mountainous and lowland areas to remote islands.

Specifically, from 2024 to 30/6/2025, Agribank contributed over 422 billion VND to charity house building and solidarity programs. For the prime minister's program to eradicate temporary and dilapidated housing, the bank contributed nearly 254 billion VND. Furthermore, employees across the entire system donated a day's salary, contributing 12.8 billion VND to build 1,000 houses under the Vietnam Bank Trade Union's program.
In 2024, at the launch of the "Shelter for my compatriots" program in Hanoi, Agribank contributed 100 billion VND. The bank then donated 20 billion VND in Hoa Binh and tens of billions of VND to provinces and cities like TP HCM, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Long An, and Quang Nam.

In 2025, the bank continued its support with several contributions, including 25 billion VND for the Southwest region, 15 billion VND for Thanh Hoa, 2 billion VND for Tuyen Quang, and 5 billion VND for Lam Dong. Notably, on 17/5/2025, all Agribank staff and employees voluntarily donated a day's salary, raising 12.8 billion VND. These contributions have quickly materialized, providing thousands of poor and near-poor households with stable housing.
An Agribank representative stated that the prime minister's commendation recognizes the bank's commitment to social responsibility. This award motivates the collective to continue its mission of community service, affirming its humanitarian nature and pioneering role as a state-owned enterprise in sustainable development.
"Each house built with Agribank's support not only helps people stabilize their lives but also instills faith and hope for a future free from poverty and towards legitimate prosperity," the representative shared.
