Vietjet Air was the first domestic airline to open ticket sales for Tet Binh Ngo 2026, starting on 28/8. Vietjet is offering approximately 2.5 million domestic and international tickets for the period from 3/2/2026 to 2/3/2026, corresponding to the 16th day of the 12th lunar month to the 13th day of the first lunar month.
Starting 3/9, Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco) also began selling over 3.5 million domestic and international tickets for the peak Tet period next year. This represents a 20% increase compared to the Tet At Ty 2025 peak period. This is also the first ticket release based on the approved flight schedule. Vietnam Airlines Group will continue to monitor market demand, balance aircraft resources, and allocate slots for subsequent sales phases.
According to Vietnam Airlines, the number of seats offered on the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route will increase by almost 18%, and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang by nearly 9%. Additionally, flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, and Hue will increase from 9% to 13% compared to the same period last year.
The corporation is also increasing flights on international routes between Vietnam and Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore to meet the rising demand for travel during Tet.
While airlines have opened ticket sales early, prices on some popular routes remain high.
For Vietnam Airlines, one-way tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi between the 15th and 29th day of the 12th lunar month start from 6.3 million VND, including taxes and fees. On this route, Vietjet's prices also increase from the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, with the lowest fare (excluding checked baggage, refunds, and flight changes) starting from nearly 3 million VND.
On the Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa and Vinh routes during the period leading up to Tet, Vietnam Airlines' lowest one-way fare is from 5.4 million VND. Vietjet's cheapest tickets are 3.5 - 3.7 million VND.
Airlines advise passengers to purchase tickets through official channels: their websites, apps, ticket offices, or authorized agents to avoid the risk of counterfeit or inflated prices during peak season. Vietnam Airlines also recommends that passengers plan and book their tickets early to secure their preferred itineraries.
