Automated gas station model showcased at A80 exhibition

Unmanned, self-service kiosks allow customers to purchase fuel and pay cashlessly.

Petrolimex Informatics and Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (PIACOM) unveiled its self-service gas station model at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Petrolimex booth during the 80th Anniversary of National Achievements Exhibition. The kiosk allows customers to order, pump fuel, and pay electronically without staff intervention or cash handling, eliminating wait times.

Through the kiosk's touchscreen, users select their fuel type and amount, then pay via QR code or bank card. Electronic invoices are automatically generated upon request. After payment, customers operate the pump themselves.

This automated solution enables 24/7 operation without on-site staff, increasing revenue and optimizing productivity. A PIACOM representative explained that with rising labor costs, this solution effectively streamlines operations and reduces staffing pressures while maintaining service quality. The model offers customers a transparent and proactive experience, from purchase to e-invoicing.

Nguyen Khanh Linh, a visitor from Hanoi, expressed excitement about experiencing the model, having previously seen similar systems abroad.

In addition to the automated kiosk, PIACOM presented its Egas smart gas station solution, currently deployed at over 6,000 stations nationwide, including the entire Petrolimex network and major brands like Mipecorp, Chau Thanh, and Tin Nghia.

Egas features automatic tank gauging, providing real-time fuel inventory monitoring and risk alerts. The system connects to fuel dispensers, instantly recording transactions and eliminating manual logs. Data is synchronized to the central Egas management software, allowing businesses to remotely monitor sales, inventory, shifts, and personnel. The system also supports e-invoicing per transaction, complying with Decree 70.

For customers, the pre-order feature allows them to place orders before arriving at the station. Egas integrates various cashless payment methods: dynamic QR codes, contactless cards, and e-wallets. The automated fueling solution enables 24/7 self-service without staff assistance.

"The automated gas station model demonstrates a digital future, integrating technology into everyday life and shaping new consumer habits," a PIACOM representative stated. "This is a positive sign of the steady progress of digital transformation in the fuel retail sector."
