The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) recently elected Le Ngoc Lam, the bank's general director, as chairman of the board of directors for the 2022-2027 term, effective 1/7.
Born in 1975, the new BIDV chairman has nearly 30 years of experience at the bank, holding various positions at its headquarters. He previously oversaw risk management and corporate client segments, serving as deputy general director since 2015. Before assuming the chairmanship, Lam served as the bank's general director for over 5 years.

Additionally, BIDV appointed Hoang Viet Hung as general director for a five-year term, effective 1/7.
Hung, born in 1972, has worked at BIDV since 1996. He has held leadership roles at the Nghe An branch, served as director of the Human Resources Department, and was deputy general director from 3/2020.
Two new deputy general directors were also appointed: Le Huy Hoang and Vu Hoang Duong.
Last year, BIDV achieved a record profit of over 36 trillion VND, with total assets exceeding 3.25 quadrillion VND. This represented a 20% growth compared to 2024, maintaining its position as the leading bank in terms of asset size in Vietnam.
The bank's capital mobilization reached over 2.4 quadrillion VND, an increase of nearly 14%. Credit outstanding reached over 2.3 quadrillion VND, up more than 15% from the beginning of the year. The bank's non-performing loan ratio stood at 1.2% by the end of last year.
