The Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list, compiled by Fortune Magazine, ranks the 500 largest businesses in Southeast Asia based on their revenue for the 2025 fiscal year. This list includes 500 leading enterprises from 7 Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Cambodia.
According to Fortune, Vietnam has 72 ranked businesses with a total revenue of nearly 177,9 billion USD, representing a 10,5% increase from the previous period. While Vietnamese enterprises contribute less than 10% of the list's total revenue, they generated approximately mot quarter of the overall revenue growth for the Fortune Southeast Asia 500.

In this year's ranking, BIDV secured the 42nd position, climbing mot spot from the previous year. The bank's 2025 revenue reached 7,66 billion USD, with profits at 1,15 billion USD.
By the end of 2025, BIDV's total assets exceeded 3,3 quadrillion VND, an increase of 20,5% compared to 2024, maintaining its position as the commercial joint-stock bank with the largest total asset size in Vietnam. Consolidated pre-tax profit reached 37.788 billion VND, up 17,8% from the previous year.
At the end of Q1/2026, BIDV's total assets continued to grow, reaching 3,39 quadrillion VND; pre-tax profit amounted to 8.572 billion VND, a 14% increase compared to Q1/2025.

Recently, Moody's maintained BIDV's long-term local and foreign currency deposit ratings and issuer rating, aligning them with Vietnam's national credit rating. According to the agency's assessment, BIDV possesses a stable customer deposit base, strong capital mobilization capacity and liquidity, and a high likelihood of receiving government support when necessary.
A BIDV representative stated that maintaining a position among the top 50 largest businesses in Southeast Asia for ba consecutive years affirms the bank's scale and financial capability.
The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was established on 26/4/1957. It is currently the oldest commercial bank and holds the largest total asset size within Vietnam's financial system.
As of 2026, BIDV operates an extensive network comprising 175 domestic branches and 927 transaction offices, along with mot overseas branch and 4 representative offices. The bank currently serves over 22 million individual customers and 500,000 businesses, while maintaining cooperative relationships with more than 2,300 financial institutions across 178 countries and territories.
In recent years, BIDV has accelerated its digital transformation, developing retail banking, digital banking, and asset management services. The bank also implements various financial solutions for businesses, including credit, payments, cash flow management, trade finance, and digital banking, catering to the needs of both domestic enterprises and foreign direct investment (FDI) entities.
In sustainable development, BIDV's green credit outstanding balance exceeds 82.000 billion VND, equivalent to approximately 3,5% of its total outstanding loans. This credit focuses on renewable energy projects, sustainable agriculture, and environmentally friendly infrastructure.
