The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on 2/9 has become a prime opportunity for businesses and brands to launch sales campaigns. Since the end of July, the excitement for shopping has spread from shopping malls to retail stores.
In the fashion sector, Canifa is among the brands that joined the sales push early for the 80th National Day. Their "Patriotism from the Cradle" collection has attracted attention with its diverse range for all ages, priced between 169,000 and 299,000 VND per item. The brand also offers 20-30% discounts for group purchases and patriotic-themed mini-games to attract customers.
A Canifa representative said the campaign is the result of months of preparation, with the main products being t-shirts, scarves, and hats in the national colors. Most of the collection is currently available for pre-order.
"While not fully reflecting actual sales, pre-orders show high growth potential, especially as the whole country gears up for the 80th National Day celebrations," the Canifa representative shared.

Similarly, other brands like BOO, Coolmate, Yody, and Lamer have also launched patriotic-themed collections, mainly featuring t-shirts. For example, in early August, Coolmate released the "Freedom to Soar" collection with discounts and free shipping for minimum orders.
In the jewelry sector, Phu Quy Jewelry launched a commemorative silver bar for the 80th National Day, weighing 5 taels. The company said all 9,999 bars were ordered on the first day. Previously, their commemorative silver bar for the 50th anniversary of reunification was also popular, selling out within a few days.
Meanwhile, supermarket chains and retailers are also capitalizing on this opportunity to stimulate consumption. At shopping malls like Aeon Mall and Vincom, fashion and accessory stalls celebrating the holiday are decorated attractively and placed in convenient locations to attract customers.
On streets like Hang Bong, Hang Gai, and Phu Doan, souvenir shops have become much busier on weekends leading up to the holiday. Shops are vibrantly decorated with products showcasing Vietnamese identity, attracting locals and international tourists.
Thu Huyen, from Cua Nam ward, expressed her excitement about buying matching red and gold star shirts for her family to participate in the 80th National Day celebrations. She said that compared to previous years, this celebration brings more profound and cherished emotions and is an opportunity to share her love for the country with her children.
With numerous National Day events, Hanoi expects a surge in visitors from central and southern Vietnam, as well as internationally. Ngoc Toan, owner of a souvenir shop, said in addition to year-round products like t-shirts, flags, and hats, she has stocked up on souvenirs such as fans, keychains, notebooks, and paintings featuring the national flag.
"From the end of July, customer purchases of these products have increased by about 20% compared to the previous month, with red and gold star t-shirts being the most popular," she shared.

Manufacturers are also seizing the business opportunity presented by the national holiday. Thu Huong, director of a garment company based in Truong Thi ward, Ninh Binh province, said orders for National Day apparel have increased significantly since the end of July, requiring her factory to operate at full capacity. Most employees have been working overtime to meet deadlines.
Besides regular customers, many new customers have also placed orders, focusing on two products: freesize t-shirts and family sets. Most products feature yellow lettering and images of the national flag, conical hats, historical sites, or the S-shaped map of Vietnam in various styles.
"Shirts priced between 100,000 and 200,000 VND are accessible to many consumer segments. Some large brands have ordered thousands of shirts to celebrate this special occasion," Huong said.
Explaining the appeal of products with national symbols, a Canifa representative noted that 2025 marks strong consumer demand for this type of product, due to two major celebrations: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and Reunification of the Country, and the 80th National Day.
According to her, this year's products differ from previous National Day items by combining sentiment with practicality. For families with young children and young people, the simple, versatile designs allow for flexible use in various situations, from everyday life to special occasions. For international tourists, products like t-shirts, hats, or bags also become souvenirs with a distinct Vietnamese cultural imprint.
"This is a positive sign that people, especially the younger generation, are increasingly expressing their patriotism through their everyday fashion choices," the Canifa representative shared.
