Ca Mau fertilizer commits over 10 billion VND to flood-hit regions

Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC) has launched a support package exceeding 10 billion VND to aid reconstruction, agricultural recovery, and social welfare in areas affected by recent heavy rains and floods.

Since early november, numerous provinces in the central and central highlands regions have continuously experienced heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides. This has resulted in damaged homes, isolated communities, and thousands of hectares of waterlogged crops. Amidst this widespread devastation, Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC - Ca Mau Fertilizer) launched its "Ca Mau Fertilizer – Sharing Together" program, totaling over 10 billion VND. The initiative focuses on three key areas: reconstruction in Gia Lai province, agricultural production recovery, and social welfare support. As a key agricultural enterprise of Petrovietnam, PVCFC stated the program was activated to meet the urgent needs of residents and support local communities in their post-disaster recovery.

Gia Lai province, among the most severely affected localities, received 5 billion VND from PVCFC. This funding supports the construction and repair of homes for affected households and improves essential public infrastructure. The aim is to provide residents with safe housing and help them stabilize their lives quickly.

With many areas of rice, vegetable, and industrial crops deeply submerged, PVCFC provided fertilizer support and technical consultation. This aims to minimize crop losses and shorten soil recovery time. Agricultural engineers offered guidance on post-flood soil treatment and efficient fertilization methods for the restoration phase.

In communes and villages that were cut off or severely damaged, PVCFC collaborated with local authorities to distribute necessities, including rice, clean water, and essential supplies. The company also supported the construction of Great Unity Houses for families who lost their homes, elderly individuals living alone, and those facing exceptional hardship.

According to the company, these initiatives aim to mitigate immediate damages and establish a stable foundation for long-term livelihoods. PVCFC affirmed its commitment to continue supporting localities amidst complex natural disasters and climate change, while maintaining its dedication to sustainable agricultural development and strengthening the resilience of farming communities.
