This information was shared by Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Viettel Group's Da Nang building in Hoa Cuong ward on 1/7. This marks the first project launched on the inaugural day of the newly expanded Da Nang (following the merger with Quang Nam province) operating under a two-tiered urban administration.
According to Mr. Triet, the city aims for a GRDP growth rate of at least 11% in the coming years. Da Nang is entering a new phase of development, with the goal of becoming an international financial center, developing free trade zones, and expanding its seaport logistics system.
In 2024, before the merger with Quang Nam, Da Nang's GRDP growth was approximately 7.51%.

The Viettel Da Nang building, a key project, is located in the Bac Tuong Dai park area, between the international airport and My Khe beach. The building has a total floor area of 80,000 m2 and a total investment of about 3,000 billion VND.
The building is expected to be operational by 6/2027. It will serve as a center for research and development of core technologies in AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, aerospace, and high technology, attracting hundreds of experts and creating an innovative ecosystem in the coastal city.
At the first session of the Da Nang People's Council on 1/7, Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council, stated that the city is entering a turning point in achieving its socio-economic development goals for 2025, a pivotal year in the 5-year plan (2021-2025). The merger with Quang Nam presents numerous opportunities for breakthrough development.
According to Mr. Dung, the new Da Nang, with an area of over 11,800 km2, has become the largest centrally-administered city in the country. This expansion also presents difficulties and challenges with the larger area, increased population, and diverse regional characteristics. "This poses significant demands on the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the entire political system, requiring determination, unity, close coordination, and more decisive action than ever before," Mr. Dung said.
