Following a groundbreaking ceremony last month, DHL Supply Chain has commenced construction on a specialized semiconductor logistics center in Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan. The project is expected to support Japan's strategy to bolster domestic chip production and boost the regional economy, as part of DHL Supply Chain's global plan to double its business by 2030.
The single-story, multi-user facility is located adjacent to the next-generation semiconductor industrial cluster in Chitose. It will provide inventory warehousing, on-site logistics, and on-demand delivery services for semiconductor equipment manufacturers and material suppliers.
According to DHL, the project's location offers excellent connectivity: near the New Chitose Airport Interchange, a 6-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and about 20 minutes from key research, development, and production facilities.
