Dong Thap LPG business fined nearly 220 million dong for illegal sales

An LPG business in Dong Thap province was recently fined nearly 220 million dong by provincial authorities for selling gas without the required certification.

The Domestic Market Management and Development Bureau announced the penalty. Market Management Team 1 of Dong Thap province fined an LPG business in My Phong ward nearly 220 million dong. The fine comprised 50 million dong for the administrative violation and nearly 170 million dong in illegal profits.

During an unannounced inspection in mid-August, authorities discovered the business operating without a Certificate of Eligibility for LPG Trading while selling to a partner in Ho Chi Minh City. The total value of the illicit transactions exceeded 2.2 billion dong, generating almost 170 million dong in illegal profits for the business.

Following an investigation, Market Management Team 1 issued the penalty decision. Authorities confirmed the business has complied and paid the fine in full.

Regulations stipulate that businesses engaged in LPG trading must possess a Business License and a Certificate of Eligibility, meeting requirements for storage, filling stations, safe transportation, trained personnel, and contracts with qualified distributors.
