In India, DP World is accelerating the construction of a new $510 million port at Tuna Tekra, Gujarat state, in the northwest of the country. The project includes a 1.1 km-long wharf with an estimated annual handling capacity of 2.19 million TEU, connecting India's vast hinterland to international markets via road and rail.
In Africa, the group is developing the Banana deep-water port in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), expected to have a capacity of 450,000 TEU per year. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, the port will reduce cargo transit times and costs, attracting large vessels from Asia and Europe, and boosting regional economic growth.
Further north in West Africa, DP World is building the Ndayane port in Senegal. With an initial investment of $830 million and an estimated annual capacity of 1.2 million TEU, the project is expected to contribute to Senegal's long-term economic development.
In South America, DP World is undertaking a $140 million wharf expansion project at the Port of Posorja, Ecuador. Upon completion, the wharf will reach 700 meters in length, capable of accommodating two Post-Panamax vessels simultaneously, significantly increasing operational efficiency.
In the UK, the group is investing $1 billion to expand the London Gateway logistics center, including the addition of two berths and a second rail terminal. The project is expected to create 400 new jobs, strengthen the UK's role as a global trade hub, and potentially make London Gateway the largest container port in the UK by the end of the decade.
