DP World launches cold chain logistics for Turkish eggs

DP World has launched a new sea-based cold chain shipping route, enabling Turkish eggs to reach consumers across the Middle East and the United States.

Initially, this weekly shipping service expects to transport approximately 6,7 million eggs each month. As the cold chain corridor expands and stabilizes, DP World anticipates annual volumes could reach up to 450 million eggs.

According to DP World, eggs will be transported in refrigerated containers through the logistics group's global network of ports and transit hubs. Internationally certified cold storage systems and continuous temperature monitoring will ensure the eggs remain fresh throughout transit.

"Eggs are highly perishable, but with the right combination of technology, expertise, and global infrastructure, we can transport them safely and efficiently on an intercontinental scale", said Kris Adams, DP World's executive vice president for Eastern Europe.

Data from World Integrated Trade Solution indicates that in 2024, Turkey was the world's 3rd largest egg exporter, trailing only the Netherlands and Poland. The UAE is a significant market, accounting for approximately 40% of Turkey's total egg exports.

DP World states that the group currently handles approximately 30% of total sea-borne export volumes. This new corridor aligns with the company's long-term strategy to enhance its global cold chain capabilities.

Previously, in 2025, DP World introduced its new Atlas service, connecting Morocco with the United Kingdom and Northern Europe.

DP World is a global logistics and port operator group headquartered in Dubai, operating in over 75 countries across six continents. The company provides integrated logistics solutions, ranging from port and marine services, warehousing, and supply chain management to multimodal transport, aiming to support global trade in operating more efficiently and sustainably.
