The Trade Remedies Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade) announced that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued its preliminary findings in an anti-dumping investigation concerning rebar steel imported from Vietnam.
Specifically, one Vietnamese enterprise, designated as a mandatory respondent, along with 10 affiliated companies, will face anti-dumping duties of 121,97%. Other enterprises will be subject to a 130,77% duty.
These rates are significantly higher than those applied to rebar from other investigated countries, such as Bulgaria (52,8%) and Egypt (34,2-52,73%). The Trade Remedies Authority considers these preliminary duties on Vietnamese steel to be high. Therefore, businesses are urged to actively cooperate in the investigation to potentially reduce the rates in the final determination.
Following this preliminary conclusion, the DOC may issue additional questionnaires and conduct on-site verifications at the enterprises to confirm information. The final determination for this case is anticipated in 7/2026.
The Trade Remedies Authority advises enterprises to thoroughly review the preliminary findings and collaborate with legal counsel to prepare counter-arguments and supporting documentation. Enterprises should also monitor the case developments closely, fully cooperate with the DOC, and prepare for the on-site verification phase, coordinating with regulatory bodies for necessary assistance.
