The LNG Quang Trach III thermal power project, part of the Quang Trach Power Center project, spans approximately 74 hectares and is being built in Phu Trach commune. This plant will utilize combined-cycle gas turbine technology with a capacity of 1,500 MW. The preliminary total investment is VND 41,826 billion, with 20% funded by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and 80% from domestic commercial loans.
Currently, EVN and Power Project Management Board 2 are accelerating the preparation of the feasibility study report. This report will be submitted to the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee for appraisal, serving as the basis for approval.
This project is included in the revised Power Plan VIII, approved by the Prime Minister. It is expected to generate strong economic growth for Quang Tri province and the North Central region by contributing approximately VND 1,200 billion annually to the budget.
