EVNHCMC wins Vietnam Industrie 4.0 award

EVNHCMC was recognized for its comprehensive implementation of digital solutions and application of advanced technologies to enhance grid operation, management, and customer service.

EVNHCMC received the "Top Organization, Enterprise, Science, and Technology in Innovation and Digital Transformation" award at the 4th annual Industrie 4.0 Awards. The event, organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), took place on 22/6 in Hanoi.

A company representative stated that the award acknowledges EVNHCMC's pioneering efforts and effectiveness in its digital transformation journey, application of modern technology, and enhancement of customer service quality.

Following its "Digital Enterprise, Digital Services" orientation, EVNHCMC has implemented a range of solutions. All electricity services are now available online through the company website, the National Public Service Portal, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Service Portal, and the EVNHCMC app. The company has fully implemented electronic service provision with OTP and digital signatures. Over 80% of service requests are received and processed automatically through AI tools such as Chatbot and Call Box, reducing wait times and improving response speed for customers.

EVNHCMC is also the first company in the industry to fully replace all meters with electronic ones capable of remote data collection. Customers can monitor their daily electricity consumption through the EVNHCMC app. The company reports that almost all customers have switched to cashless payment methods.

The company actively applies advanced technologies used in the global power industry, including new materials, real-time equipment monitoring, and modern specialized electrical construction and repair equipment.

EVNHCMC has also improved tools and equipment for its construction and grid repair workforce. Pilot models like mobile generators and mobile UPS vehicles are being researched and deployed. The company effectively utilizes information technology and digital technology to enhance grid operation and management.

At the end of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation became the first enterprise in Vietnam to be certified as a digital enterprise by the Ministry of Information and Communications. By 2024, the corporation achieved an advanced level of digital transformation (level 4 out of 5).

Also at the Industrie 4.0 Awards, Nguyen Van Thanh, General Director of EVNHCMC, was honored in the "Pioneering, Innovative, and Digitally Transformative Leaders and Entrepreneurs in the Era of National Rise" category. This award recognizes his strategic direction and leadership in the corporation's comprehensive innovation.

Nguyen Thanh Nha, Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC, accepted the awards on behalf of the corporation's leadership. He stated that EVNHCMC considers digital transformation not just a trend but a necessary requirement to improve operational efficiency and better serve customers. This recognition motivates all employees to continue innovating and developing for a sustainable energy future.

"The Vietnam Industrie 4.0 Award is a timely and well-deserved recognition for EVNHCMC, a company always striving for innovation for the benefit of the community and the sustainable development of the Vietnamese power industry in the digital age," said Mr. Nha.

Throughout its development, the corporation has consistently received numerous domestic and international awards. In 2023, EVNHCMC won the "Smart Grid Project of the Year" award at the ENLIT ASIA 2023 international conference, becoming the first Vietnamese power company to be honored in the smart grid development field.

In 2024, the company received the "Smart Grid Award" from Power Magazine (USA) for its Distribution Automation System (DAS) project. In the same year, EVNHCMC was honored at ENLIT ASIA 2024 with the "Smart Grid" award for its "Outage Management Map" project.

EVNHCMC's Smart Grid Index (SGI) in 2024 reached 80.4 out of 100, ranking 41st among 92 power companies with smart grids globally. This score is comparable to companies like Western Power (Australia), Dominion Energy (USA), BC Hydro and Hydro Ottawa (Canada), TNB (Malaysia), and Westnetz (Germany). EVNHCMC was also among the top two Vietnamese companies awarded the ASEAN Innovative Enterprise at the Asia IoT Business Platform (AIBP) for its "Smart Grid Development" project.
