Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) inaugurated its "Electrical Safety and Hazard Identification Training Ground" on 6/8 at Northern Power College in Soc Son, Hanoi. This facility marks a significant shift from theoretical training to experiential learning, aiming to equip employees with practical skills, enhance risk identification, and improve incident handling in a safe, simulated environment.

The training ground spans 300 square meters, featuring a 120 square meter introduction and exhibition area, alongside three practical training zones, each 60 square meters. A key highlight is its system of 9 practical training modules, designed to simulate common hazardous situations encountered in power grid management and operation. These zones include a practical area for pole erection training, a physical experience zone for scenarios like electric shock, step voltage, and falling objects, and a virtual reality (VR) simulation zone. The VR zone recreates incidents such as induced current, falls from height while climbing steel poles, or improper safety harness attachment.

Through these practical models and simulation technology, trainees experience situations that can occur during work, including: electric shock, step voltage, working at height, or violating safety distances. This process enhances their skills, develops safety reflexes, and cultivates risk prevention awareness. The overarching goal is "experiencing it once in training so it never happens in reality."

Nguyen Duc Thien, General Director of EVNNPC, emphasized that the operationalization of the training ground marks a shift from theoretical training to experiential learning. Unlike traditional training methods, this ground applies an experiential learning model, allowing trainees to "make mistakes in a safe environment" to fully understand the consequences of violating procedures before actual work. Through the 9 modules, learners develop observation skills, situation handling, and form habits of safety compliance in labor.

With this advanced training ground and standardized program, EVNNPC aims to build a highly skilled workforce that proactively identifies hazards, assesses risks, and selects safe working methods. This initiative also serves as a foundation for spreading a robust safety culture throughout the entire Corporation. It seeks to embed regulatory compliance as a conscious awareness, habit, and voluntary action for every official and employee, thereby reducing occupational accidents and ensuring the stable, sustainable operation of the power system.

Nguyen Duc Thien requested that Northern Power College continuously improve content, innovate training methods, update practical situations, and effectively utilize the training model system to maximize the facility's effectiveness. He also urged all EVNNPC units to integrate training activities at the ground into regular training content, linking them with building a strong safety culture. According to him, every manager must set an example in implementing safety regulations, and every worker must consider procedural compliance a professional responsibility and honor.
