Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has instructed its member units to respond to typhoon number 3 following the "4 on-the-spot" motto (local resources, local forces, local leadership, and local logistics).
EVNNPC requires its member units to fully prepare personnel, materials, vehicles, and equipment to be ready to respond to and quickly overcome the consequences of the storm. Power companies and hydropower plants under its management are inspecting and reinforcing the power grid, warehouses, reservoirs, dams, and developing safety plans for equipment and personnel, especially in areas at high risk of flooding and landslides.

In addition, EVNNPC requires units to provide adequate protective equipment for workers. When traveling through rivers, streams, low-lying areas, or flooded areas, workers are required to wear life jackets to prevent unfortunate incidents such as drowning and work-related accidents. Units must ensure the safety of vehicles, machinery, and construction equipment to prevent dangerous situations such as cars, motorbikes, and equipment being submerged, sunk, or swept away during operation. Emergency response teams for incidents and natural disasters at the unit must be maintained constantly, ready to act promptly and effectively in any arising situation.
For ongoing projects, the corporation directs units to implement safety measures for workers and assets at construction sites and thoroughly review asset and construction insurance records. The improvement of disaster prevention and search and rescue apparatus, as well as the establishment of an on-site emergency response team, must also be completed. These forces need to be appropriately arranged to ensure effectiveness in unusual situations.

From 20/7 to the morning of 21/7, the corporation's working groups, led by officials in charge of engineering, safety, and members of the natural disaster prevention command, conducted field inspections in Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, and Hai Phong to assess the situation and the level of preparedness for typhoon number 3. Currently, 100% of the units in the affected area have arranged forces on duty 24/7, coordinating with local authorities to trim trees, handle corridor violations, promote electrical safety, and ensure communication. Local power companies are also required to continuously update the situation of natural disasters and proactively support customers in case of power outages.
Vu Anh Phuong, Deputy General Director and Head of the EVNNPC’s Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, stated that with the motto "Proactive before - Respond quickly - Overcome promptly," EVNNPC units have implemented synchronized response solutions, ensuring power grid safety and readiness to restore power as quickly as possible after the typhoon. The corporation's leaders are on-site to accompany the units, determined to protect people, assets, and the power system.
