The Da Nang People's Committee issued the penalty after the Market Management Bureau's inspection team discovered the business selling counterfeit goods of brands protected in Vietnam. These included prominent luxury fashion brands like Gucci, Chanel, Christian Dior, Bottega Veneta, and Celine.
Authorities had previously confiscated 232 items worth over 183 million VND (approximately 7,900 USD). Following the administrative penalty, all counterfeit items were slated for destruction.

In May, Da Nang's market management conducted inspections in the city center, uncovering several locations suspected of selling counterfeit goods. Many of these were found on Tran Phu, Hung Vuong, and Nguyen Thai Hoc streets, popular tourist destinations known for selling cheap "luxury" goods.
When inspectors arrived at Black Label (156 Tran Phu Street), the shop abruptly closed and covered its storefront, but continued serving foreign customers. CoCo Accessory & Bag (144 Tran Phu Street) advertised bags, wallets, and shoes bearing famous labels for prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to under 2 million VND (approximately 87 USD).
Two stores, Gu (27 Hung Vuong Street) and Mirror Shop (15 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street), were found displaying numerous products of unknown origin. Nearly 2,000 items were seized for processing.
Following verification, several businesses faced administrative penalties. The Gu business household received a 77.5 million VND fine (approximately 3,400 USD) for selling counterfeit branded goods and an additional 45 million VND fine (approximately 1,900 USD) for selling goods of unknown origin. Black Label Shop was fined over 111 million VND (approximately 4,800 USD) and ordered to destroy 127 counterfeit products.
The Da Nang Market Management Department launched this intensive inspection campaign under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, implementing Directive 13 and Official Dispatch 65 from the Prime Minister on combating smuggling and commercial fraud.
