FWD launches financial literacy programs for young people

FWD is implementing financial education programs for students, equipping them with spending and saving knowledge, and fostering proactive financial thinking among the younger generation.

A representative from the enterprise stated that, as a life insurance company, FWD identifies financial education as a central focus of its community activities. Over the years, FWD has launched numerous programs targeting young people, aiming to equip them with skills and enhance their awareness of long-term financial management.

This year, the company expanded its financial education journey to university students through the "Be A Finnovator" program – redefining the relationship between young people and personal finance. This initiative is a collaboration with Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF) and Dear Our Community (DOC). The project attracted 600 students from three universities in TP HCM, with the support of 23 FWD volunteers. The program utilizes workshops for knowledge and experience exchange, along with a debate competition, to help young participants develop critical thinking, personal financial management skills, and career planning abilities.

Since 2022, the company has partnered with more than 8,200 middle school students across Vietnam, offering them access to foundational knowledge about spending and saving. Beyond budget management, the program integrates social and life skills, helping students confidently make sound financial decisions and learn how to contribute to the community. This journey helps sow the seeds of financial literacy for future generations.

According to a company representative, FWD provides financial knowledge and encourages young people to develop independent and responsible financial thinking. This is an essential skill in modern society, empowering the younger generation to proactively shape their future. Through consistent and long-term activities, the company demonstrates its commitment to accompanying the community, creating positive changes, and contributing to building a better life.

In addition to educational programs, FWD integrates community activities into its sustainable development strategy. The company views social support as part of its vision to "change people's perceptions about insurance."

The company's community projects are seriously invested in and feature long-term plans, rather than being merely temporary or campaign-driven. FWD fosters a spirit of contribution from within its employee team. Through the "Community Care Volunteering Leave" policy, each employee receives an additional day off to participate in charitable activities they care about. This policy ensures that community care is not only a company responsibility but also a voluntary choice and a source of pride for each individual.

This direction helps FWD strengthen its internal culture of cohesion and encourages employee participation in event series, transforming commitment into practical action. Many charitable activities are jointly carried out by the company and its employees, such as charity runs to raise funds for underprivileged children with heart conditions, and humanitarian blood donations. Additionally, there are activities like hair donations for cancer patients, scholarships for disadvantaged students, gifting warm clothes to children in mountainous regions, and accompanying and sharing with people in disaster-stricken areas.
