Geleximco stated the divestment aims to restructure its finances. The transaction is expected to be carried out via a negotiated method between 15/1 and 13/2. Based on the current market price of ABW shares, Geleximco could generate approximately 565 billion dong from the sale.
The group is currently the largest shareholder in ABS, holding nearly 46% of its capital. Vu Van Tien, the founder of Geleximco, serves as Chairman of ABS.
Established in 1993, Geleximco operates across various sectors, including real estate, industrial production, trade-services, and high-tech agriculture.
An Binh Securities (ABS) was founded in 2006, making it one of the earliest companies in Vietnam's securities industry. For the first 9 months of 2025, ABS reported a revenue of 341 billion dong and an after-tax profit of 105 billion dong, marking increases of 26% and 27% respectively compared to the same period last year.
Late last year, the ABS Board of Directors approved a plan to offer 202.3 million shares to existing shareholders at a 1:2 ratio. This means for every share currently owned, a shareholder can purchase two new shares. The anticipated price for these new shares is 10,000 dong per unit, which is approximately 15% lower than the current market price. Additionally, the company plans to issue 5 million more shares through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
Upon completion of these share issuances, ABS's charter capital will increase from 1,011 billion dong to 3,000 billion dong. The company intends to allocate 1,500 billion dong of the raised capital towards investments and proprietary trading, with another 573 billion dong designated for margin lending activities.
