At noon on 18/8, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bars at 124–125 million VND per tael, an increase of 500,000 VND compared to the end of last week and a record high. Other brands also raised gold bar prices similarly. Currently, the difference between buying and selling prices is at a low of 1 million VND per tael.
SJC raised the buying and selling prices of plain gold rings to 117–119.5 million VND per tael, an increase of 400,000 VND. DOJI Gold and Silver Group listed plain rings at 116.8–119.8 million VND. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, plain rings reached 117.2–120.2 million VND per tael.
Recently, domestic gold bar prices have tended to increase faster than the international market. The difference between domestic and international gold prices has risen to nearly 18 million VND per tael.
At 1 p.m. Hanoi time, the spot gold price increased by nearly 20 USD during the day, currently trading around 3,350 USD per ounce. Converted at Vietcombank's selling exchange rate, the world gold price is equivalent to 106.9 million VND per tael.
At the same time, domestic brands are selling silver bars around 1.45–1.5 million VND per tael, a slight decrease in recent days. Phu Quy Gold Investment Company and Saigon Thuong Tin Bank Gold and Silver are selling around 1.5 million VND. The selling price at Ancarat Precious Metals Joint Stock Company is 1.45 million VND.
This morning, the USD price in the official market increased slightly and also traded at a record high, despite the USD Index being in a downward trend.
Vietcombank listed the exchange rate at 26,080–26,470 VND. BIDV raised the USD price to 26,110–26,470 VND. At some foreign exchange bureaus on the black market, the USD is trading at 26,480–26,550 VND.
