On the morning of 29/7, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bars at 136.5 - 140.5 million dong, a decrease of one million dong per tael compared to yesterday. At Mi Hong, SJC gold bars were traded at 137.5 - 139.5 million dong per tael.
Plain gold rings at SJC also saw a corresponding decrease, reaching 136 - 140 million dong per tael. Mi Hong traded plain gold rings at 137.5 - 139.5 million dong. At Doji Gold and Gems Group, 24K gold rings fell to 137 - 141 million dong.
Globally, the spot gold price at 9h, Hanoi time, hovered around 4,023 USD per ounce. Converted using Vietcombank's selling exchange rate (excluding taxes and fees), the international gold price was nearly 12 million dong per tael lower than the domestic price.
Domestic silver bars and ingots remained mostly stable this morning. Phu Quy, Doji, and Sacombank - SBJ traded silver bars around 2.15 - 2.2 million dong per tael, equivalent to approximately 57 - 59 million dong per kg.
In the foreign exchange market, the interbank exchange rate remained unchanged this morning at 25,306 dong per USD, marking a 0.7% increase since the beginning of the year.
USD prices at banks continued to rise slightly this morning. Vietcombank increased the USD price to 26,120 - 25,530 dong, up 5 dong per USD compared to yesterday. The USD price has shown a slight upward trend, increasing by about 0.6% year-to-date.
Conversely, the US dollar on the free market remained low. Some currency exchange points traded around 26,320 - 26,350 dong, with the selling price in the market 200 dong per USD lower than the banking market.
