At the awards ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 24/7, HDBank Chairman Kim Byoungho stated that the bank's recognition, alongside major players like Vinamilk, FPT, and VPBank, affirms the position and prestige of Vietnamese banks in the international financial landscape. He added that it is also an opportunity to share positive values with the community, investors, and the economy.
According to Kim, HDBank's decade-long transformation has been built upon the foundation laid by Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. She pioneered the modern banking model at HDBank, incorporating technology with a focus on human values and comprehensive integration.

The ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2025 are jointly organized by the Securities Commission Malaysia, the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF), and the independent watchdog Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG). Five outstanding companies were honored among hundreds of reputable businesses from 10 ASEAN countries.
The event was attended by Malaysia's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul, along with leaders of financial institutions, international investors, and governance experts. Discussion sessions focused on transparency, ESG integration, board diversity, digital transformation, and shareholder protection.
Established in 2011, the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) is a comprehensive assessment system based on five pillars: rights of shareholders, equitable treatment of shareholders, the role of stakeholders, transparency and disclosure, and responsibilities of the board.
In addition to this award, HDBank also received two accolades at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2025 held in Singapore: Domestic Retail Bank of the Year and Bank of the Year for Marketing and Brand Initiative.
A representative from HDBank noted that this is the 4th consecutive year HDBank has been recognized as the Domestic Retail Bank of the Year. The award acknowledges HDBank's achievements in retail banking operations, digital transformation, and market share expansion. Building on its strong financial foundation, the bank has established a multi-faceted customer ecosystem, connecting banking with consumer goods, aviation, energy, insurance, healthcare, and education, providing comprehensive and flexible financial solutions.
